Kitchen of Skills, is the outcome of CUHEKO Project: “Through Culinary Heritage to Key Competences”. The CUHEKO project is an international Strategic Partnership Program, co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Program. The project is implemented by international partnership of institutions: Stowarzyszenie Lokalna Grupa Dzialania “Dolina Raby” from Poland, KIKO Educational Solutions Sp. z o. o. from Poland, Charakis Research & Consulting Ltd. from Cyprus, Razvojna agencija Kozjansko from Slovenia and Suupohjan Kehittämisyhdistys ry from Finland.
The Project has been created as a response to the need of increase of key competences among adult inhabitants of areas (mainly rural and semi-rural) covered by the activities of Local Action Groups.
The main target of the project is to create the program and methodology of training/education process of adults in the key competences through culinary activities originating from the local historical& cultural heritage.Every local, rural society has its tradition of joint cooking and cultivating traditional culinary recipes. The specialized training/education process will combine the traditional and historical cooking with modern education of key competences development. They will learn about European cultural and culinary heritage. Participants will develop key competences through special exorcises, tasks, working in sub-groups.For example: during the education process- training with cooking classes – participants will be asked to prepare interesting description of recipes from their region, but also from various regions of Europe. They will send prepared by themselves description of region from which prepared meal originates from by e-mail or they will prepare a basic video made by themselves and share it with other participants. They will learn basic entrepreneurship competences during carrying out exercise and cooking lessons through usage of analogues, preparation of the cooking targets and budget. Participant will develop also their creativeness through usage of creativeness strategies used during this culinary& cultural training.In frame of the education process participants will develop key competences such as: literacy, basic language skills, digital competences, entrepreneurship as well as creativity and cultural awareness through active involvement in practicing the cultural and culinary heritage.
This educational approach involving the culinary heritage of various regions of Europe will allow to make the educational program: very interesting for participants, will increase their level of knowledge of European cultural heritage in the same time improving their literacy skills, language skills, creativeness, digital competences and entrepreneurship skills.
The approach taking into account local culinary& cultural heritage will make the educational process highly efficient, pleasant, satisfying and more understandable for participants.The aim of the strategic partnership project is to carry out joint activities and during project’s meetings to collect necessary knowledge, exchange information and experiences in project partners’ countries.The analysis of education needs of target group as well as educators, who will be carrying out education activities with adults, will be carried out. On the basis of those evaluated education needs the education program will be developed. That will be followed by guidance and general training program and methodology of which will be the final result. The program will be implemented through trial trainings run by educators carried out in countries taking part in the project. Result of the project will be innovative for the target group, their training and education.
The worked out educational program in key competences will be applicable on the local level by Local Action Groups in Europe.Project’s target group:The main project’s target group are adult inhabitants of rural areas who need to strengthen, develop their key competences.
In order to implement the educational program on local level the educators working in Local Action Groups will be trained as future trainers for final target group- adults inhabiting areas of LAGs.
